Hotel La Bussola

The free hotel bikes made it easy to get to the delicious restaurants and bagnos, though we also enjoyed the large pool. Breakfast pastries were really tasty. We stayed for a week, and the staff were patient and kind with our large group and my very specific morning coffee requests. They also served us Aperol spritz and wine at very reasonable prices. We’d highly recommend the hotel.

The owners even made an effort to help me practise Italian, and the staff were always ready with directions and ideas for attractions. The whole place had a great feel, and the other guests seemed lovely too. I worked remotely here to get away from the July and August heat in Milano, and the location was hard to beat. It felt almost like staying in forte dei marmi without paying those prices. My daily highlight was taking one of the free bikes for a quick ride into town. Meals at the hotel were always an option, and I had a fantastic time. I’ll definitely be back!

The rooms are on the small side, but they're fine for a couple of beach days. There’s free parking, and breakfast was perfectly good. Staff wore masks and disinfected the tables and rooms after use. The hotel is very nice, about a five-minute bike ride from the beach, and you can borrow a free bike every day. The pool is a good alternative for a day or two.

The food was the highlight for me. I'm in love with Italian cuisine, and after years of travelling in Italy, these were the best meals I've ever had. Well done, La Bussola! It's a remote spot for anyone who likes peace and quiet. The yard is lovely, clean, and shaded, and the pool is very nice, though its water was a little chilly. The room didn't meet my expectations for a three-star hotel. Bagno Monia is a very good private beach, but you'll need to get there by bike from the hotel or use your car. The owner is helpful, thoughtful, and always available.
