We didn't meet anyone at the property, and handled all the communication through WhatsApp, which worked perfectly well for us. The apartment was roomy and comfortable, and its quiet location made a good base for exploring Matera, with the old town just a short walk away. We enjoyed two nights there in June. Matera has enough to keep you busy for a couple of days, though expect plenty of uphill and downhill walking, especially on the valley walk for a view back at the town. We did that in flip flops, which got a few smirks and probably wasn't the smartest choice. We also found free parking above the paid car park the owner directed us to. A nice stop on our trip around Italy.
