The hosts were so welcoming and attentive, and breakfast with homemade produce was lovely. The historic farm has been restored beautifully, and its position on a hill looking over the Murgia Materana plateau is stunning. Matera is only a 10-minute drive away. We wish we could've stayed longer!

Breakfast each morning was magnificent: homemade jams and cakes, local breads, fresh juice, pastries, cheeses, eggs cooked to order, and cappuccinos made with fresh milk from their own farm. Beatrice made us feel at home with her warm welcome. She shared the property's history and pointed us toward must-see places in Matera, always ready with answers and suggestions that helped us appreciate the region more. Masseria Torre Spagnola is a short drive from Matera. Staying at this lovingly restored historic masseria felt like stepping into a peaceful fairytale. If you're after a quiet, historic place to stay with genuinely warm hospitality, it's a perfect base.
