Danilo was a real help, very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us a map of Matera’s center and pointed out routes with lovely views. Breakfast came with the price, either brought to the room with pastries, coffee and so on, or as a voucher for three items each at a partner café. The café breakfast was very good, and worked better for us since we could handle the hot milk and bottles for our little children ourselves. The room was designer furnished, immaculate, and full of thoughtful details. It had a large bathroom with a chromotherapy shower, plus a spacious room with everything from a safe to a mini-fridge. The guesthouse is tucked down an alley connecting Via Roma, about 200 meters from the historic center. It was quiet inside but still close to everything. Parking is available nearby on the blue lines along Via Roma. Five stars, absolutely deserved.

We found it easy to head to the Sassi from here, just beyond the historic center. There are three rooms, each with its own bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and breakfast was available via a bar voucher for coffee and croissants. The young owner was attentive and friendly. We had an early checkout and it went without any trouble. Highly recommended.

Breakfast at one of the bars in the square was excellent, and the room was nicely furnished with a fabulous bathroom. The host knows his stuff and is incredibly kind. I only rated it a little lower on Booking.com because it was my first time staying at a B&B, which was a shame. I’d recommend it, and some friends of mine are staying there in June.

Breakfast was excellent, and the room was comfortable in a handy part of town. The B&B sits down a dead-end alley, so there’s no panoramic view. The entrance to the apartment building could use some work.
