Hotel Piz Boè

Mazzin is a very sleepy town, so bear that in mind. The rooms are nice, and breakfast was good, especially for a complimentary meal. Amadou, who makes the crepes, was fabulous. If you've booked the “triple room” with one queen bed and one twin, those are the only two rooms without a deck. The showerhead is oddly low, so I had to crouch to shower, and I'm not very tall.

The bathroom felt really cramped and tiny, though the room itself was okay. The spot is nice, with restaurants, a supermarket, and a riverside walking path close by.

Breakfast had a good range, with waffles, crepes, cereals, seeds, juices, and soy and almond milk, which I appreciated. The staff were nice, and my room was warm and very clean. It's well placed in Val di Fassa for a ski trip, and there's a free ski room. The shower is too small, making it awkward to get in and out. The road by the entrance is full of potholes and needs attention, and the hotel stairs do too. I'll definitely come back to Piz Boé hotel on my next trip to the Dolomites.

I couldn't make it to the hotel because of dangerous mountain conditions, with an alert for snow, rain, hail, landslides, and flooding on the road. When I called to explain, the woman at the desk was extremely rude. She kept cutting me off, wouldn't let me speak, and insulted and harassed me. It was a horrible customer service experience.
