Residence Alba De Rio

Excellent.

The pool gets five stars from me, as do the really cute, homey outdoor spaces. The staff were also lovely and helpful, another five stars. For cleanliness, I'd say two stars. They did clean our room every day, but some towels were stained, the sheets didn't smell fresh, and there were odd marks on the back of the bed. The room itself gets three stars. For the price it's very nice and has a pleasant outdoor area, but there's no bidet in the bathroom. The bed was the biggest issue for me, with very hard mattresses and high pillows that made it uncomfortable. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, so three stars there. Plastic plates are a definite no for me. Still, it's a pretty good residence overall.

Our accommodation was a mess from start to finish, and it ruined our vacation. We'd agreed on a room plus a kitchen for three people, along with another room for four, but that arrangement never happened. They changed our rooms twice. At first, we were put in a four-person room and an identical one with a shared kitchen. Then my 72-year-old mother had to stay in our room because they'd moved her group to a damp, smelly basement with no electricity. The residence was dirty and poorly maintained. I think it's best avoided.

The location is convenient, less than a ten-minute drive to the sea and near the city center for anything you might need. The staff were genuinely welcoming and always available, and the reception made a great impression. It feels like home as soon as you arrive. The place has charm, clean rooms, a good breakfast, Wi-Fi, and a pool for extra comfort. I hope to return soon.
