The location in the centre worked well for us, and staying in Melendugno meant being only 10 minutes from the sea, at a much lower price than the various marinas. We were passing through, and I know the town, so I expected the road to be fairly busy. It didn't disturb my sleep, despite what I've read in other reviews. The room looked plain, but that didn't bother me: it had what we needed, a comfortable bed, working air conditioning, and a modern bathroom. For a 1-2 night stay, I'd come back. I would replace or remove the rusty wall drying rack, add at least some shower gel or a basic courtesy kit, and provide bidet towels. Maybe those were missing because of a small oversight on my part.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, bathroom included, and the location was excellent. The mini-fridge was switched off and didn't work, and we didn't even find a cold bottle of water as a welcome.

For €100 for one night, we got a double room and a single bed in a cramped, damp space. There were obvious yellow stains on a low wall, water leaks, and a strong stench that made the air feel unhealthy and harmful to my health. This terrible Bed & Breakfast called the room "Poetry." The smell really was as poetic and vintage as the name suggests. The Health Department should inspect it.

Shops and supermarkets are very close, and it's a great base for exploring Salento. The accommodation was lovely and clean, the owner was kind and helpful, and breakfast was included, with very friendly café staff. A truly wonderful stay. Beautiful Salento!
