Red's Apartments

The location worked really well for us. Supermarkets, bars and a bakery are within easy walking distance, and the free beach at Torre Melissa is convenient and usually has a pleasant breeze. There's a section for dogs too. Punta Alice is about a 15-minute drive away, with a long pebble beach, so bring water shoes. In September the area is very quiet, maybe too quiet, since the season ends in August and many businesses are closed for holidays. For trips further afield, Museo Amarelli is an hour's drive, and Liquorificio Lacinio in Crotone, where they make amaro Milone, is about 20 minutes away. We've been at Red’s Apartment since September 16, and as of September 27 we're having an excellent stay. The building is new and the apartment is spotless, beautifully furnished and supplied with what we need, including air conditioning, a fitted kitchen and double glazing that blocks the traffic. The mattress is extremely comfortable. We also appreciated the weekly linen change, which keeps things fresh while leaving us independent the rest of the time. We'd booked a mountain view, but Roberto surprised us with a two-room apartment overlooking the sea at no extra charge. There's a well-equipped gym downstairs, though it closes from 11:30 to 17:00. The seafront has a long pedestrian path for walking or exercising outdoors. The shared room on our floor has a kettle, coffee machine, washing machines, a sink for handwashing, iron and board, mop, broom, Swiffer, cloths and sponges. There's also a little shared pantry with chili, pepper, salt, oil, ready-made sauces, pasta and tea. Those touches make it feel like home. I like it so much that I wish I could find a Red’s Apartment everywhere I travel. Highly recommended.
