Hotel Visconti

Get to breakfast after 9:00am and a lot of things will already be finished.

The rooms are fairly spacious and meet my needs, and the staff are friendly enough. Parking seemed okay, though I arrived by train from Milan. This is my first impression after checking in, based partly on a previous stay: the hotel is basic and the rooms are dated. There's no restaurant, but there's a pizza place next door. I may try breakfast, served from 6:30 until around 9, even though I don't usually eat it. There's a smoking area, and the bar serves cola, beer and shorts. I remember the pizza shop not taking cards, but I'll cover that in a separate review. I've taken off a star because there's no coffee maker in the room, and the only option is to buy coffee at reception. There's visible damage with little or no repair, and parts of the hotel look like they could fall down soon. The mould on one ceiling was the last straw. The Wi-Fi is awful too. I'm unhappy and won't stay here again.

I'd definitely stay here again. There's parking for guests, and the hotel has nice rooms and a good breakfast. By car, it's 3 min to the train station, where you can catch a suburban train to Milano and get to Porta Garibaldi in 15-20 min.

There was no AC when I arrived during the day. Once it finally switched on, it blew hot air. I ended up running down the stairs three times because that was quicker than taking the elevator.
