The view across Menaggio was lovely, but the villa itself felt neglected and could have been so much better. The garden was badly overgrown, making it hard to get through, and the loungers had no cushions and were surrounded by weeds. Rust had left the barbecue unusable. The Booking.com photos gave a completely misleading impression. Inside, the design needs work too: some newer furniture was poor quality and already broken.

We found it a solid choice for a self-catering holiday, as long as you're not expecting luxury. There was free Wi-Fi of decent quality, and the owner was quick to reply when contacted through WhatsApp, which worked better than calling. The villa suited our group of eight well, with enough kitchen equipment and seating. The cupboards have been upgraded, and the grill is new, unlike the one described in the Google review that gave two stars. The outside still looks a little neglected, though it has improved and wasn't as bad as those photos made it seem. The garage takes two cars, with room for a third in front.

Lovely views, a good location, and a great villa.
