Hotel Ansitz Plantiz

Dinner at the restaurant was a highlight, with great food and service. I had the most decadent panna cotta with pineapple and caramelised hazelnuts. Breakfast was tasty too, with high-quality food. The outdoor heated pool sits in a beautiful garden, it felt like heaven. The spa area was excellent, with a choice of saunas, a relaxing area, and an indoor pool. We really enjoyed our stay.

We booked a junior suite and got a lovely, spacious room with a balcony, though we didn't end up using it much. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained, close to the center of Meran. Still, we spent as much time outside as we could because we didn't feel welcome with our two children under four. We expected to enjoy an eight-day holiday, but Mrs. Guffler told us rudely and unfriendly that we were noisy and people had complained. The management, especially Mrs. Guffler, seems focused on making sure guests without children aren't disturbed, putting their need for quiet and relaxation ahead of families with small kids. A few days after we left, we noticed a flyer in the room saying children could use the pool from 13h to 15h, which is classic nap time for little ones. The staff in general were friendly, but Mrs. Guffler's way of speaking to us was unacceptable and ruined the stay. I wish I'd read other guests' feedback and the hotel's responses beforehand, as it would have been clear that treating families with small children poorly had become standard there. I'd suggest the management say upfront that the hotel is more geared toward adults, to avoid disappointing families. We won't return and wouldn't recommend it to families with young children.

The outdoor pool was stunning, and the whole area felt so relaxing. At the spa, the infrared sauna was our favorite. Breakfast was a huge buffet with really tasty coffee. The staff were lovely, and when we asked, they brought us a softer mattress and packed breakfast for us. Morning yoga and evening meditation are included too. Everything went perfectly from arrival to the end, with every wish taken care of. One of the best hotels I've stayed in, and I'd love to return!

We loved this place from the moment we arrived. The welcome, area, service, and facilities were all amazing. We added an extra night without any problem.
