The breakfast buffet each morning was plentiful and varied, and we appreciated having a breakfast room with plenty of tables instead of sharing with other guests as can happen at a US B&B. Dinner was easy too, with restaurants just steps away, and there’s a grocery store close by for lunch supplies. The place is very quiet, even though it’s right off Merano’s busy, colorful walking street, near restaurants, walking paths, and the River walkway. Being in the middle of everything got us out walking and exploring. The rooms looked recently updated and were impeccably maintained. Finding the place was the hardest part, though it really wasn’t that hard: look for the large wooden door leading down a passage to a courtyard behind the street-facing buildings. In our opinion, it couldn’t be more ideal.

Valentina is a wonderful host, and her homemade breakfasts are delicious and generous. The rooms are spotless and well equipped, and the location is hard to beat. A great place to stay while visiting Merano.

After finishing a hiking holiday, the three of us spent just one night here. We all left thinking we should come back to Meran with our families and stay longer at Maison Valentina.

Valentina was a really friendly, helpful host, and the breakfast was generous and delicious. The building has a lovely old exterior with a stylish modern interior, and from the top room you can see the city and the nearby mountains. It’s right in the center, too. Five stars feels about right.

Breakfast felt like being in nonna’s kitchen, especially with the kitchen right in the middle. We loved that idea. The rooms are roomy and well equipped, with great beds and bathrooms, and so many thoughtful details that it felt like coming home. Check-in was very professional, and the friendly, professional pre-arrival messages gave us all the information we needed in a clear, compact way, which would be especially useful for a first visit to Meran. We loved our first stay here. I’ll be back!
