The pool was great, breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were really friendly. They gave us lots of useful tips when we asked, and our holiday was a complete success. If we’re in the Merano region again, we know where we’ll stay. There’s also a fridge with cold drinks and a bowl of snacks. You write down what you take, and it gets added to the bill at the end. Very handy, and the snacks were excellent. My boyfriend said, “We absolutely have to give them five stars. I want to come back!” :)

The breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of fresh local products to choose from. They’ll cook or scramble eggs on request, too. After a day of sports, the summer pool and sun loungers are a great place to relax. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and the family-run atmosphere was warm and friendly. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. Waidmannhof is slightly away from the main tourist areas, but Merano’s centre and hiking trails are only a few minutes away. It was a lovely stay, and we’ll definitely return. I’d recommend Hotel Waidmannhof to families and couples looking for peace, cleanliness, and hospitality.

The Merano Guest Card made it easy to get around, with free access to all public transport in South Tyrol. I thought the price was very good for what we got, and had a perfect holiday. You could almost stay at the hotel the whole time, especially with children, but Merano and the surrounding area have so much to see that we hardly needed to. This family-run bed and breakfast sits above the town centre in an apple orchard in Obermais. The building and grounds are inviting and well kept. There’s also a newer, modern building with five holiday apartments. Breakfast has a great variety and made a perfect start to every day. Everything else was well equipped too. Parking is right at the hotel, and there’s storage for bikes. The outdoor pool has loungers and seating in both sun and shade. In the afternoon, the hostess serves homemade cakes in the garden.
