The heated pool is great, and it’s only a short trip into the middle of Meran. The rooms are clean, breakfast leaves nothing to wish for, and it’s very good value. We look forward to staying at Pension Planta every year. You feel comfortable here and are welcomed warmly.

The guesthouse is older, and you can see that in the rooms, though our bathroom was surprisingly new. The TV barely worked, and the German channels were unwatchable. Breakfast was okay, but there weren’t any eggs.

Even one star feels like too much 🫣. We’ve stayed in plenty of places in South Tyrol, but what happened here was unacceptable 😢. The 1960s system and FDGB (East German Trade Union Federation) “home” mentality in the way guests are treated is hard to understand. I didn’t really want to write this, but I decided to so other potential guests don’t have their holidays spoiled. It can be done differently and better 🙏.

The peaceful setting is surrounded by nature, with vineyards and apple orchards nearby, and it’s a lovely base for walks and hikes. Our hosts were very friendly, everything was spotless, and the outdoor pool is heated. There was plenty of delicious food too. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed relaxing in the large, lovely garden and the heated pool. The breakfast buffet and dinner were excellent, and the Sunday barbecue was a great touch. We were very happy with what we got for the price. I’d definitely recommend Pension Planta.
