Weingut & Apartments Weitgruber Raffeis

I went to the winery to buy honey and apple juice and was greeted so warmly. They offered me a wine tasting, but sadly I didn’t have time. I did get to sample their own honey, which I highly recommend. I’d happily go back, and next time I’d set aside more time.

We were staying at the hotel next door and dropped by the Weitgruber winery without an appointment. They welcomed us warmly, let us try the wines, and gave us excellent advice. We left for Germany with some delicious bottles.

The hostess clearly loves her work and enjoys introducing people to the small winery’s products. I’d recommend this tasting to any wine lover. All the wines we sampled today were excellent in their own way. The rosé stood out for me, with a wide range of fresh berry aromas that won me over as a rosé connoisseur. The Lagrein Botanical had every bit of the character it’s known for.

We had a lovely wine tasting, and the wine was excellent. The Weitgruber family were warm and welcoming, and the regional food was absolutely delicious. We’d love to come back.
