B&B Centrale

I was very happy with my stay 😊. The owners were kind and helpful, and both the room and bathroom were neat and really clean. The location is great, right in the center of Messina.

It’s a peaceful place in a very quiet area, with paid parking right outside the building. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the new mattresses and pillows are good quality. There’s a refrigerator, flat-screen TV, coffee maker, and Carrara marble floors. Bars, restaurants, bakeries, pastry shops, and ice cream places are nearby. The manager is very friendly and happy to accommodate requests.

The only thing in its favor was being near the center of Messina. The rooms were old, poorly furnished, and didn’t feel set up for guests’ comfort. The bathrooms were particularly run-down and dated, and the drain pump was loud. The owner made the stay worse. He was unfriendly and seemed to know nothing about hospitality. I left with a very negative impression and can’t recommend this B&B.

Breakfast is at a nearby café, where you can have granita and brioche eaten by the tuppo. The flexible check-in and check-out times we arranged with the host made it much easier to plan our arrival and departure freely. The owner was courteous and kind, which made my short time in Messina very pleasant. Thanks for the welcome, and I hope to see you again soon! Bed and Breakfast Centrale is a little gem in a historic building in the old center, within easy reach of the port and the city’s main sights. The comfortable, tastefully furnished rooms were spotless. There are small mini-fridges and a coffee machine with pods. The bathroom had plenty of soap and shampoo, a welcome change from the usual little hotel soap bars that are no use to anyone.
