Everything was spotless, and we were able to use the owner’s kitchen too. It’s a really nice place, and Emanuela welcomed us so warmly. The service was a 10, and she was incredibly kind.

My husband and I stayed one night on July 20, 2024, hoping to rest, but neither of us slept at all. Cars, engines, and ferries made unbearable noise through the night. I strongly advise against staying here. I’ve tried calling the B&B several times but haven’t been able to reach the host. We paid €60, and this isn’t an experience we’d repeat.

The rooms were clean, but the value was terrible. We paid €120 for a triple room without a receipt. It had a double bed with single sheets and a single bed. There was no breakfast, even though this is a B&B. When we asked, we were told that B&Bs in Messina don’t serve breakfast! The bathroom was outside the room, and dusty junk was everywhere. I’d never stay here again.

The room was spacious and clean, the property was nice, and the area is well served. It’s literally across the street from the Caronte & Turist landing. The host was kind and friendly until check-in ran late because of unexpected work issues. We apologized and called to let them know. But when we arrived, the comments I got felt excessive. First she asked, “Do you smoke?!” I said yes, but I’d booked a room with a balcony and thought I could smoke outside. I don’t smoke in my own home, let alone somebody else’s. After showing us to the room and handing over the key, she started by saying, “Please don’t get confused, the other rooms are occupied...” I don’t know why she assumed people needed special instructions, but I can only imagine it was prejudice, especially since we arrived young, tired, and dressed in work clothes. Here’s my advice: whoever comes to stay, including workers, is a person doing a job. Their job doesn’t define them. If we’d turned up in a jacket and tie, maybe none of this would’ve happened and I might have come back. I won’t be returning.
