YourHome - Villa Sorrento

The location is nice, but I think you could find somewhere better. The pool itself was good, though the hours were odd: it opens at 9:30 am and closes at 19:00 pm, so you can't swim when the weather turns cool. When we asked about renting a scooter, nobody mentioned that a credit card was required or that the alternative was a 900 euro deposit, which is more than the bike costs. 😁 Someone came to show us the accommodation and hand over the keys. Then we saw the bathroom and got our first shock: there was a cleaning tape over the toilet, but when we lifted it, there were lots of hairs, not just two. The floors had an unbelievable amount of dust and dirt.

Getting to the beaches and public transport is easy since the hotel is very close to both. There isn't much in the way of facilities besides the pool. The rooms are quite small, and while it was clean, I wouldn't say it was very well maintained. Parking costs 10 euros a day, and I feel that parking should always be included in a hotel's service. We weren't especially satisfied, though I can't call it bad either. Pretty average.

I had a terrible experience with the host, Andrea. She took my booking just a few hours before check-in, without making it clear that nobody would be at the property to let me in. When I arrived with my bags and waited outside the hotel door, she told me, “Look for another property. We’re Closed. You have to leave the property immediately.” She refused to let me in and left me sitting outside without any help. The host was extremely rude, and the customer service was horrible. She directly violated Airbnb’s rules and was penalized by the company. Never stay here.

Lovely staff and a very clean room. The property is amazing, with a fantastic swimming pool, and the location is handy for shops and public transport.
