Pitagora Residence

We stayed three days in a studio apartment with a kitchen, and paid an extra €50 for our 4-month-old poodle. The place was clean and peaceful, the pool was well kept and had what we needed for lazy days, and the terrace umbrella made a nice spot to relax. The studio’s air conditioning and ceiling fan both worked properly. Giovanni, the caretaker, and the whole staff were so kind and helpful. Giovanni works incredibly hard. A couple of things could be improved for short stays: guests who don’t bring their own sheets and towels pay €5 per person per day, €10 per day for us, for one set of linens. That price would make sense if they were changed daily, but without a daily change it doesn’t. It would also help to have basic things waiting on arrival, like toilet paper and soap kits, since it’s a pain to bring even those for a short stay, even at a residence. For a nice evening out, I recommend Policoro Lido.

The sea was fantastic, reached by a path through nature, and we had some really lovely relaxing moments by the pool. It was fantastic and even cleaner than our photos had led us to expect. The room and facility were spotless, which mattered a lot with a small child. GIOVANNI was a wonderful person, clearly passionate about his work. He welcomed us so warmly that we even became friends. A very peaceful place and really clean, with a friendly, helpful owner. The one downside is that everything costs extra and isn’t included in the booking package, unlike at other places.

The owners are so kind and helpful, and the residence has a lovely family feel. It’s peaceful, with a beautiful pool and bar. There’s also a pizzeria and snack bar nearby, and Metaponto’s clear sea isn’t far away. I definitely recommend it and would happily come back!
