Greco Apartment

Sleep was the biggest problem. The apartment, 20 metres from the hotel, was next door to other guests who were loudly making love from afternoon until the next morning. The moaning and bed banging kept us awake, and we lost two nights of sleep. The final night was rough too, even though we had to leave for the airport at 3 a.m. We're still feeling the effects of traveling without sleep, and spent time catching up on rest instead of sightseeing. The place had been presented as an apartment that was much better than a hotel room, though we'd originally been given what was supposedly a prepared room. The mattress seemed new and was clean, but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I think the dirty floor might have been more comfortable. The stairs up to the main bedroom were filthy, and the blankets were stained, smelly, and dirty, so we had nothing to sleep under. The bathroom was grimy throughout, with an old, deteriorating sink and shower. For two people staying three days, there was only one towel. The living room kitchenette was supposed to have a microwave, fridge, hob, and kettle, but there were no mugs for coffee, and the fridge was dirty inside. The TV kept losing its signal and freezing. The sofa was broken, filthy, and stank, like it had come from a rubbish dump. The heating stayed on full blast even after we turned it off at the thermostat, making the rooms feel like an oven. When we tried to return the keys, nobody was available at reception, so we left them under the doormat. We couldn't switch hotels because everything else was booked due to the match that weekend and the Olympics. We knew it was a two-star place and didn't expect luxury, but cleanliness is a basic standard and it wasn't met. This pseudo-hotel wasted our time and money. I don't recommend it, and it should be closed and barred from hosting guests in these conditions.
