Hilton Garden Inn Milan North

The metro was the biggest plus for our one-night stay. As Hilton Honors members, we found Villa San Giovanni just steps away, with easy trips to Duomo Square and the historic Grand Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Italy’s oldest shopping mall. Linate Airport is 12 km away, too. There’s reliable free WiFi, an all-day restaurant, a 24-hour shop, a fitness center, and gated underground parking. We didn’t use the event facilities, but they can accommodate up to 850 guests. The gated entrance can be confusing to approach, especially when looking for the parking or main drive, though Google Maps worked fine for us. A handy base for getting around Milan without staying in the busy center.

A room with a magnificent view was waiting after a surprise upgrade at check-in. I hadn’t even asked. The front desk staff were especially kind and accommodating about my special requests. The room was beautiful and clean, with a huge bathroom that had a separate tub and bidet. Breakfast was tremendous, and it’s free for at least Gold members. If I return to Milan, I already know where I’ll stay.

We’ve stayed here a few times and are planning another visit. The metro nearby makes it easy to get around, even though the hotel is a bit outside the city center. Rooms are spacious, the beds and pillows are very comfortable, breakfast has a good selection, and the staff are pleasant.

The staff were exceptional, friendly, and helpful even during a busy time. They went above and beyond for us, and that’s why I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. The accommodations were suitable, with a couple of minor problems: an occasional flashing light in the room, perhaps from the smoke alarm, and a hole in the bathroom backsplash. The entrance through the gate on the side street was a bit confusing. Even so, the staff made this a five out of five stay.
