Hotel Da Vinci Milano

I came away most disappointed by the lack of professionalism, transparency, and help after my watch went missing. I had left it on the table before going to dinner, and it was gone when I returned. I told the front desk the next morning. They said only my wife and I had access to the room. I understand their position, but hotels have master keys and housekeeping access. They called it impossible because the staff member involved had worked there for many years, which was presented as evidence that it was unlikely. That didn't clarify anything. When I asked whether they could look at CCTV or key-access logs, they said no CCTV was available and offered no other check of access history or proper internal investigation. Instead, they advised me to file a police report. As an international traveler on a tight schedule, that wasn't practical or supportive when internal checks could have been tried first. I expected better guest care from a hotel of this level. Reviewing footage or key-log history could have helped sort out what happened.

We stayed three nights with our two sons and all had a great time. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the beds extremely comfortable. The lounge food was first rate, and it was a relaxing place to eat, watch football on the big screen, and have a cold beer. Breakfast was in another room the next morning, with excellent service and great coffee. The metro stop was ideally close, and there were great restaurants and local shops just a few minutes away. Every staff member was amazing, from reception, who gave us metro details, to the bar staff. I can't praise the hotel and its staff highly enough, and we'll definitely return on our next trip to Milan.

The staff were really friendly and the customer service was great, which was better than I expected from the reviews. But the room had several stains on the walls and a very strong toilet smell. We opened the balcony door to air it out, but the smell was even worse the next day. I hope they can find a solution. Aside from that, the room wasn't bad.

Breakfast was great, and I liked that the rooms had their own temperature controls. Still, I'm not sure I'd come back. Everything felt way too expensive for the quality. The bed felt like it was made from the same material as the floor. My wife complained, and she likes sleeping on boards. There was water damage in the bathroom, the shower stall drained badly, and a new pillow or two would be a welcome investment.
