Hotel Premier & Suites

The beds were really uncomfortable, and there was no complimentary water in the room. We won’t be back. The main problem was the bathroom: there was no shower, just a high bath with jets. I needed my partner’s help to get in and out so I wouldn’t slip. There were no clear markings for hot and cold, and hot water sprayed onto me, almost burning me. It’s hard to get into if you’re short or have a bad leg, and it needs steps. I’m fairly young, but I’d worry about an older guest or someone with a bad leg. I can’t understand how the owner overlooks this accident trap. We arrived to find the wrong room, despite having booked an executive sea view room. The manager and receptionist weren’t available, though a kind assistant did their best to help. It was late and we just wanted to rest, but it took an hour to get settled. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly either, though eventually it was fixed. They kindly offered water for the inconvenience and promised free room service for breakfast. At checkout, the receptionist insisted we pay €32 for the water, even after I explained it had been offered as complimentary. Communication was difficult too. I asked for a toothbrush and got a comb; I asked for a cup and got cotton wool. I wasn’t going to leave a review, but the receptionist was rude and argued with us about the water after all the trouble. The hotel needs to be more understanding of guests and change those bathrooms.

The room wasn’t very clean, and the wifi barely reached it. The indoor pool was actually in another hotel across the street, and it felt like a hot bath rather than a pool. One evening the restaurant was closed without warning. The place itself was comfortable, with a nice view, a pleasant spa, and nice staff, but it wasn’t what I expected.

Breakfast was the highlight, with fresh fruit, bread, croissants, yogurt, and plenty more. The staff were kind, helpful, and friendly, which isn’t something I’ve found everywhere in recent years. Dinner was at a hotel across the street, and both the service and food were excellent, though the wine list felt below average for this kind of hotel and restaurant. I had an executive room on the fourth floor. There was a sea view, but the hotel directly in front blocked what could have been a lovely view of the sunrise. The room itself was large, with a huge front window and a spacious terrace that let in lots of light. Thick shades kept light out at night and during the day. I liked the bed and pillows, which were firm with a little softness. The bathroom was fine, though figuring out the sauna and jacuzzi box just to take a shower felt like it needed an instruction manual. The only uncomfortable part was that the hotel advertises the spa without explaining that it’s across the street, like the restaurant. The website should make that clear so guests know what to expect.

The service was great and it’s a welcoming hotel with a wonderful breakfast. The Adriatic water isn’t exactly wonderful, but it is warm. The cost is out of reach for some people.
