Orto Paradiso

The view was incredible, and waking up there each morning was such a pleasure. Breakfast was great, and the coffee was good too. Fabio and the staff were very accommodating, and I'd happily stay again. The stairs really are a lot. We planned our days so we'd only climb them once, and some people may find both the stairs and the room's very small shower uncomfortable.

The climb up isn't for everyone, but it's part of life for locals, and the view at the top made it worthwhile. I stayed three memorable nights, April 2 to 5, and used the B&B as a base for trips by Sita bus to Amalfi, Positano, Capri, Ravello, and Vietri sul Mare. Breakfast each day was enjoyable, as was the glass bottle of lemon water. I also liked the patio outside my room and its great view. The staff were very helpful, sharing arrival directions and local information on Whatsapp. A very friendly Italian gentleman with perfect English carried my luggage up from street level for free, thank you! I was impressed by the founder, an art professor, and had a great conversation with him. Booking on the website was less expensive than other hotels in the area with similar amenities. I'd definitely stay again.

Breakfast overlooking Minori and the beach was a highlight, and the views across town, along the coast, and up into the mountains were wonderful. Orto Paradiso spreads over several levels on the hillside, with a pool, lemon grove, plenty of viewing terraces, flowers, and olive trees. It feels quiet, and much of the time we felt as though we had the place to ourselves. There are 180 steps up from the road, perhaps twice that from the sea. Stairs are hard to avoid on the Amalfi coast unless you're staying at sea level, and the climb felt worth it for the views. Their porter picked us and our suitcases up at the Minori bus stop, drove us to the bottom of the steps, then carried everything up. We had the same help when leaving. Minori worked well as a base, with good bus and ferry links. We walked up to Ravello and along the Lemon Path to Maiori, and would recommend both. The town is quieter than some other Amalfi coast spots, with good restaurants and a few shops. Fabio was a brilliant host. He served a nice Italian breakfast each day, shared useful advice, offered to book things, and arranged transport. The homemade orange marmalade and lemon curd were delicious. The rooms had charm, though weren't perfect, and fresh towels were brought daily when the beds were made. We thought it was excellent value and would love to return.

The team at Orto Paradiso were friendly and ready to help, and Fabio deserves a special thank you for making our stay memorable. He was approachable, hands-on, and clearly knows hospitality. Breakfast was fresh and tasty with plenty of variety. It was much the same each day, but the food and drinks were good quality. We stayed from June 30 to July 4, 2024. The place was peaceful, relaxing, and quiet, surrounded by nature with beautiful views. Our room was quite large and had what we needed, including AC. The shower was a bit small but worked fine. The bed was good, though not great, and replacing it would be an easy room improvement. The location was convenient for Maiori, Salerno, Ravello, and Amalfi, all about 15-30 minutes away by car or motorcycle. Private parking is available for 20 euro per day, which is useful since parking around the Amalfi Coast can be difficult, and private spaces can help avoid scratches or other car damage. There are lots of steps to reach the accommodation. Places with great views often take some effort to get to, so anyone who dislikes walking may find the Amalfi Coast difficult. We thought this B&B was amazing.
