La Tomina

The owner and his partner were incredibly friendly, and the food was made with high-quality local ingredients and beautifully presented. It's a restaurant out in the Mirandola countryside, in a pleasant, slightly dated building. Space is limited, so booking is recommended. The menu changes with the seasons and has plenty of variety; you can also make special requests in advance. Prices are moderately high, but the effort behind them is well-founded. There's adequate parking.

There’s so much space and peace here, it feels almost like a gift. If you're after nature and quiet, it's hard to find a better place. One thing to know: the restaurant is closed, and only the accommodation is available. The kitchen is well equipped.

I didn't know the area and was pleasantly surprised by how enchanting the place is. We came for the first Great Pizza Festival, after a lovely Nordic walking outing in the countryside. The pizza was delicious and more than plentiful. From the steady stream of customers, I suspect many came for the different menus, which I've been told are excellent. I'll see if a tasting on my next visit earns that fifth star.

We booked for 3 days, from December 24th to 27th, but the hob didn't work. I contacted the owner on the morning of the 25th (CHRISTMAS) and was told they couldn't find an electrician to fix it. This left us without the service we'd booked and unable to prepare any hot meal, even just coffee for breakfast.
