Hotel Villa Patriarca

The staff were warm and friendly in a way that felt natural, not forced. Thanks especially to Maya, who put smiles on my wife's face and mine. The hotel sits in a pleasant, very quiet area, and the bus stop for Venice is just a minute's walk away. Breakfast was really good, and my wife loved it. I wasn't keen on the evening restaurant and personally wouldn't recommend eating there. The room had a few small shortcomings too: the sink was a bit awkward, the shower only had a fixed head, and there were a couple of other minor things. Still, we'd definitely stay again.

Mirano is a little pearl of a town, with its own life and center, and it gave us a taste of authentic local Italy. The hotel is close to it but far enough from Venice to avoid the tourist prices. One of the nicest hotels in the whole Venetian area.

The room was small, smelled bad, and was very noisy. The old mattress was uncomfortable, the automatic heater made the room extremely hot, and the bathroom was so cramped I could barely sit on the toilet. There were no slippers or shower cap in the room, and although breakfast was huge, the quality was very low. This is supposed to be a four-star hotel, but two stars at most is what I'd give it. Being in an old building doesn't justify four stars. It felt like a classic Italian scam.

The breakfast was amazing, and the staff were super friendly. Sofia deserves a special mention for going out of her way to help me and make my stay easier, well beyond what I expected. She was amazing! The hotel also has great public transport right on the doorstep.
