Hotel Baltic

The staff were really friendly and ready to help with whatever we needed. The hotel is also right by the beach, about a minute from the sand.

We were sent to a different hotel to check in after arriving at Hotel Baltic and finding nobody there to welcome us. The check-in time on Booking was 12:00 PM, but we were later told it was 2:00 PM. Parking kept changing too: first listed at €8, then €10 in chat, and finally €9 at the hotel. We could have parked at the hotel, as other guests who arrived later left their cars there, but nobody told us. That was a disappointing start. Breakfast instructions were also confusing. We were first told to go to Hotel Haway, then, when we collected our keys, told it was on the first floor of the Baltic. In the morning that floor was empty and deserted. There was no hairdryer in the room, even though one was supposed to be provided. We eventually found someone at reception who brought one, but it didn't work. When I went down to report it, nobody was there, and neither hotel answered my calls. They later said they'd bring another one. Twenty minutes later, they returned with the same hairdryer I'd left on the desk at reception.

Jessica at reception was wonderful, as were the breakfast room staff. The rooms were attractive and clean, and the location right on the border with Riccione was excellent. Breakfast had sweet and savory options, including sandwiches, cakes, jam, eggs, bacon, hard-boiled eggs and sausages. The coffee and cappuccino machine was better than average, with juices, some fruit that could be improved, and yogurt too. Not having a kitchen at the hotel was a real letdown, especially since there's no parking and the hotel sits in a restricted traffic zone. We had to go elsewhere for lunch and dinner. The seafront restaurant nearby was run-down and unhygienic, with low-quality food and a chaotic service. Another hotel restaurant in Misano was hard to reach by car, had parking problems, and served terrible food. The third option, a lovely restaurant in Cattolica, had a thoughtfully planned menu with an appetizer and two choices each for first and second courses. But over our 14-day stay it felt repetitive, and getting there always meant driving. There was no refrigerator in the room unless you asked and paid for one.

The internet was the biggest problem: it barely worked in the dining room and didn't work at all on the second floor. DISGRACEABLE. The food, on the other hand, was very good, with lots of fish and seafood, and generous portions. The reservation system needs work too, since payment links somehow end up in spam.
