Hotel Costabella

The wellness area, with its sauna, steam room, and emotional shower, was a welcome chance to rest around halfway through our trek. Our room in the annex was comfortable and quiet, though that building felt much less appealing than the beautiful main hotel. At dinner, the creative dishes could have used more seasoning. We had duck with raspberry sauce, but there were only a few drops, not enough to bring the plate together. The salad buffet, on the other hand, was excellent, with lots of fresh choices, just what we wanted after days on the Alta Via. The cheese plate was great, and I enjoyed dessert too. Breakfast was generous and varied, even with scrambled eggs and bacon, which we hadn’t had in ages. We were very happy with our stay.

The dinner was fabulous, honestly, I wouldn’t bother eating elsewhere. The other places in town are meh. The spa and sauna were amazing too, and the staff were friendly. The man at the front desk was especially sweet.

We loved watching the house martins nesting outside our room, it was so heartwarming. The rooms were fabulous, the food fantastic, and the service excellent. Every staff member treated us so well from arrival to departure. Our one night here left us refreshed partway through our 13 day AV2 hike. Thanks to everyone at the hotel, well done.

Bad weather disrupted our hiking plans, and the staff were kind and understanding enough to let us check in early. The next day they helped us work out the bus schedules for our onward trip. The hotel is spotless, with a lovely atmosphere and fabulous food, and the service was superb. It's in a beautiful valley with breathtaking mountain views. We'd stay again in a heartbeat.
