Laurino

I came back to Hotel Laurino in Moena after more than a decade, this time booking bed and breakfast. The location is handy, near regional buses with direct connections from Trento. One route goes past the Latemar ski resort in Predazzo, and the ski bus for Lusia and San Pellegrino is also close by. The staff were welcoming and courteous, but the room felt neglected. There were holes in the bathroom walls and no coat hooks, the toilet flush leaked, and the bathroom door made a lot of noise. Breakfast was satisfactory, although the hard-boiled eggs were cold. Scrambled eggs or toast prepared quickly cost extra, unlike the included buffet items at other hotels in town. Getting to the ski room meant using stairs without handrails, and the room itself was cramped. The elevator did provide direct access from the floor, which helped. Noise from other guests was the biggest problem. On the first night it continued until 2 a.m., and there was another disturbance at midnight on the fourth and final night. I reported it to the manager several times that first evening and asked to change rooms, but there were no workable alternatives. I would have appreciated some gesture toward reimbursement. The guests were easy to identify, and I would have preferred quick action to deal with their behavior. Hotel Laurino has some promising points for a stay in Moena, but the rooms need significant work, including the shelves, showers, shampoo and shower gel. The hotel also needs a more proactive, firm approach to unruly guests.
