Hotel Bengasi

The metro is close by, which was the one good thing. After a good phone conversation beforehand, we arrived to almost no welcome at all. The woman there spoke very little Italian. We found out card payments weren't accepted and had to pay cash, which caused us quite a few problems. There were mistakes and misunderstandings about the booking and payment, and I later realized I hadn't even been given a receipt. Smoke smell was everywhere in the building, the Wi-Fi was terrible, and at 10:30 PM they started making a lot of noise cleaning the hallway. If you want quiet and good service, this isn't the place.

We lasted ten minutes before deciding to switch hotels. The room door wouldn't lock, and the front entrance card also opened the room door, so I assume one card might open every room. There was no reception to speak of. The windows wouldn't shut, the bathroom had no bidet, and the shower was broken. When we got to the room, there wasn't a shower at all, so they fitted a hose that couldn't even reach your back. It's in an apartment building. Definitely avoid it. I gave one star because zero wasn't an option.

It's falling apart, and the smell is awful. This hotel is terrible.

Dark, sad, and filthy, with smoke smell everywhere. The decor looked like a 1970s brothel, to say the least. The Chinese receptionist didn't understand Italian. Not recommended at all!
