The apartment was in terrible condition, and we were disgusted and disappointed to be given it like that. The property seems to have been neglected for years and badly needs renovation. Carlotta, the owner, never replied or apologized, and just sent Super Marco over to deal with the problems. The iron was the only good thing about the villa. I wouldn't want anyone else to stay in this apartment. Moneglia itself is a very nice place to visit, and we'll come back, but we'll stay elsewhere. The pool was unusable and disgusting, swarming with mosquitoes that seemed to be living off the dirty water. It also looked much bigger in the photos, and was maybe two metres long. The outside areas were awful too. The garden by the living room had patchy grass, two old deck chairs, and a broken table, clearly not enough seating for an apartment advertised for eight. The dining table had six chairs, and two had covers that needed cleaning and repair. We were afraid to use those because they were falling apart. The other outside area was closed for work during our stay. That's understandable, but nobody told us ahead of time, so we couldn't use the other garden furniture or barbecue. Only the living area and downstairs bedroom had air conditioning. The upstairs bedrooms were extremely warm in peak summer, and mosquitoes meant we couldn't leave the windows open. We ended up running the downstairs air conditioning around the clock to try to keep the place cool in the evenings. The apartment was also falsely advertised as sleeping eight. The living room sofa bed was about the size of a single bed, so the two guests meant to sleep there had to split up, with one on the couch. We were given only six towels instead of eight. Power downstairs often tripped when certain lights were switched on, which wasn't ideal in the evenings. Every room had some problem. The bathrooms were disgusting, with loose taps, toilets that weren't fixed to the floor, loose toilet seats, and shower screens that leaked when we showered. The list could go on and on.
