Fico Apartments

The location was good, but the room was the worst I’ve ever stayed in. It felt dingy and almost like a prison, and getting ready there wasn’t pleasant. There was a stained quilt without a cover when we arrived, so I had to message to get one put on. The shower sits in the middle of the room and leaves very little space to move around. It has a glass panel facing into the room, so there’s no privacy, and no proper shower door. The other door we had to use didn’t work, leaving the floor soaked. There wasn’t room for a bedside cabinet, either. The place was very basic, and the door buzzer woke us whenever someone came in. One evening my daughter wanted to stay in while I went out to meet friends. They wouldn’t give us two keys, so I had to stay with her because she’d have had no electricity or way to sleep if I took the key. The website advertised a roof terrace, but when I asked about using it, I was told it was locked and only for the room at the top. I showed them the listing, and she said she’d reword it. I really don’t understand the decent reviews and wouldn’t stay again, even at half the price. I wondered if that was just how things were in Italy, but our friend’s €20-a-night apartment was amazing, large, clean, and bright. I’d seriously look around, since you can find much nicer places for half the price.

Breakfast is included at a nearby cafe, with coffee and a croissant, and a great view. The apartment is lovely and right in the heart of Monopoli, a great starting point for exploring the city. I really loved Monopoli.

Getting around was easy thanks to the convenient, well-connected location, and the services went beyond what I expected. Everything seemed set up for comfort and peace of mind. This was a high-quality stay, not just somewhere to sleep. I’ll definitely come back, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for style, excellent hospitality, and a bit of quality.

The host was always available by phone. Our apartment on the third floor had a lovely terrace, and the place was clean and had everything we needed. It’s in a very quiet area, good for relaxing. Just think about your luggage, since the stairs can be hard to manage with heavy suitcases.
