The balcony off our king room was so charming, with an ocean view, and we loved having Aperol spritzes and takeaway dinner out there. The place is a cute little B&B in a great spot in the old town by the water and rocks, and it felt especially charming for a couple of nights. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The robes were nice, the pillows very soft, and the small rooftop had a beautiful view, making it a good place for a cocktail and a bite. Their Aperol spritz was really good. Roberto was very friendly, though slow to answer texts. Breakfast can't be served before 8:30, though sometimes someone was there around 8 to make a cappuccino, so things are pretty laid back. The main drawback was the bathroom setup in our already small room. There was no door separating it from the bedroom, and the sliding glass toilet door and glass shower door offered little privacy. The toilet area was so cramped that even I'm petite and my knees hit the glass door when I sat down. The flush was so loud that we sometimes left it unflushed at night to avoid waking each other. Luckily, my friend and I took turns leaving the room when we needed privacy in the morning. There was no full-length mirror.

We were taken upstairs from the street and ordered a bottle of wine, which arrived quickly. The local wine was very average, yet the bill came to 68 euros. When I questioned the price, I was told a service charge had been clearly shown, but we hadn't been given a menu at all. It felt like a tourist trap. Don't fall for the Russian charm.

The view and mineral water were the only good parts of the lounge bar for me. The cocktails, wine, and food were poor and overpriced. The bill also seemed a bit suspicious: we were nearly charged for a cocktail we hadn't ordered, and some prices differed from the menu, with the terrace charge listed as €6 per person instead of €5.

We ended up coming every day of our Monopoli trip. The coffee was the best we tried, and the service was excellent and friendly. Both the downstairs and upstairs areas had a fantastic atmosphere that made the whole visit. Definitely recommend stopping by!

The room was clean and comfortable, and we had a very good breakfast. There’s a lovely rooftop terrace looking out over the endless Adriatic, and the bar and restaurant had a cool vibe.
