The courtyard was charming and clearly well looked after, and the hosts gave us a very warm welcome. We spent one night at this tastefully decorated place near Monopoli and were very happy with the stay. A few small things could be improved for future guests: the sink was clogged, the coffee machine didn’t work, and the shower head was broken. A little shelf by the sink would help too, since the ledge is too narrow for belongings. Even with those issues, we recommend it for its beautiful setting.

The homemade cake and cookies at breakfast were delicious, and our simple, spacious room felt welcoming. The owner was very kind, showed us his horses, and suggested places to eat. It was easy to get to Monopoli, Polignano, Alberobello, and the Castellana Caves from here. We stayed two nights and felt like part of the family. I’d happily come back. Thanks so much.

The breakfasts deserve a mention of their own, though they’re best experienced for yourself. Mr. FRANCO made us feel welcome without ever intruding, and was always ready with useful advice about what to do, how, and when to visit. He often called ahead to introduce himself and help make sure his guests were well treated. The riding stables next door are a wonderful addition. If you like, you can ride Barone, Lady, or one of the other beautiful horses, cared for by Franco's son and his team with real professionalism and respect for the animals. I’ll definitely return, even if only to say hello. It’s hard to put the feeling of a B&B like this into words; you have to experience it.

The location is good, though there are plenty of other hotels in the area that are convenient logistically. Cleanliness was practically nonexistent, and the relaxation area was very poorly maintained. The bathroom was missing essentials, and there were lots of insects, which I understand can happen given the setting. Getting there meant taking winding roads that were dark at night. I wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t return.
