They kept the money we paid upfront, and I'm now trying to get a refund. Sorting out their incompetence shouldn't be my job. Our booking was cancelled just two days before we were due to arrive, with the explanation that they couldn't host us, even though other guests were staying there. When I called, the hotel's 'sweet' lady seemed annoyed because she had other guests to deal with. Stay away if you don't want to be left out on the street.

I planned a trip through southern Italy, staying one night in several different places, and Monopoli was one stop. I'd chosen quinque for that night. Two days before I was due to arrive, they told me the booking, which I'd already paid for, was cancelled. They didn't offer another reservation or even try to help me find somewhere else. I was left stranded. This place showed no sensitivity at all.

There's a large shared terrace where you can eat breakfast or just relax, and the air conditioning works really well. They refresh the towels and tidy the room every day. The rooms are almost all brand new, very clean, and well maintained. Breakfast is decent, with fresh fruit and coffee in the kitchen. I'd highly recommend it for couples.

Giuseppe was so kind and helpful when we lost our phones. He printed our flight tickets and even lent us a phone for the stay. The room was fantastic, the best one we had on our trip, and breakfast was lovely too. You can imagine how much that matters to French people! We'd recommend this place a hundred times. I gave the place a 7 overall and left honest feedback about what was good and what could be better. The host's response on Booking attacked me for it. He thanked me for my “NOT-GOOD review,” apologized for the breakfast and distance from the center, then told me I should have read the listing and checked the map. He pointed out that QUINQUE describes a daily basket of prepackaged ingredients for a sweet breakfast and is 1.1 km from the center. He also called the accommodation cheap and suggested I book a 5-star hotel next time. Best regards, Giuseppe.
