Suite 31 (Adults Only)

It was so peaceful inside, even though the place is right in the middle of the Centro Storico. A lovely stay in a truly wonderful town.

We had a lovely stay. The place is elegant, and the woman who greeted us was so kind. I’d recommend it!

Being in Monopoli’s old town, just a few steps from the sea, made the location hard to beat. The modern design also sits nicely with the historic surroundings. There’s a lot provided: a walk-in closet, breakfast nook, coffee machine, mini-fridge with complimentary snacks, crodini and a bottle of Prosecco, plus a hairdryer with two nozzles. Breakfast is covered by a coupon for nearby Bar Roma. The suite feels luxurious, especially the unusual whirlpool tub. It doesn’t make the usual big bubbles, instead it produces very fine oxygen bubbles that turn the water opalescent. One drawback is that there’s no window, so even with ventilation, there’s no natural light and you have to use LEDs and other artificial lighting. Also, the light on the right before the bedroom was burned out and hissed, which got annoying while we had coffee at the table. A small, fixable issue. We had a great experience overall.

The suite is beautifully furnished down to the details, and its old town location is the reason I’m giving it one star. We also had the unpleasant surprise of cockroaches. We were told to leave our car in a free municipal lot about a 15-minute walk away. The shuttle brought us and our luggage on arrival, and the staff were kind then. After that, though, we got refusals and were given supposed problems that a place like this shouldn’t have. At checkout, sig.ra Annamaria said the shuttle was broken, so we had to walk back carrying our suitcases. Then we saw it speeding through the old town streets, apparently with new guests. “Suite” describes the building itself, and that’s about it.
