Our ground-floor apartment in Capitolo had all the comforts we needed and a fantastic terrace. The beach was just beyond the garden. Luciana, the owner, is lovely.

Luciana was wonderful, warm, patient, reliable, and always there when we needed her. She went beyond what we'd expected and even left water and a bottle of wine for us. By the end, I was leaving Monopoli with a new friend. See you soon, Luciana, we'll definitely be back. Her two spotless ground-floor apartments are modern, roomy, and nicely decorated, with everything for a comfortable stay: plenty of towels, kitchenware, a washing machine, dishwasher, complimentary coffee and a capsule machine, air conditioning, beach chairs, and a parasol. They're close to Lido Bianco and Lido Rosso, and about a 10-minute walk from the historic center. Free parking is included, which is useful since parking near the center can be hard in peak season. The area is quiet, with a supermarket and pharmacy across the street. Restaurants and cafes open late are a three-minute walk away, handy if you don't want breakfast at the apartment. Monopoli also works well as a base for nearby towns such as Alberobello, Locorotondo, Cisternino, and Martina Franca, and for exploring beaches and lidos. Luciana also has three houses at a beachfront property about a 10-minute drive from the apartments. They're comfortable and a good option if you want to get away from town and enjoy the white sand and turquoise water, with lovely lidos around the area. Each house has the same amenities as the apartments, plus a gate that opens just steps from the sea.
