Agriturismo La Scopa, Montaione

Toscana is a beautiful region.

Giorgio deserves a special mention. He’s warm, kind, and friendly, and made us feel at home right away. Always smiling and helpful, he shared his knowledge of the area, with tips for unique places to visit and excellent local restaurants. He speaks fluent English, which made communicating easier. We spent a few days at Agriturismo La Scopa in the charming village of Montaione, and loved it. The setting, surrounded by olive trees and vines, feels like a little Tuscan paradise, with plenty of space and privacy. Guests can use the whole agritourism grounds, which are furnished with care. The pool is large, clean, and well maintained, and there’s a peaceful spot to relax. The rooms were tidy, clean, and well equipped, and the bathrooms spotless. It’s clear the hosts care about their guests’ comfort. I’d wholeheartedly recommend this place for Tuscan atmosphere, warm hospitality, and time to unwind in nature.

Our apartment, robin, had three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with beds for seven people. It was spacious and clean, and mosquito nets were fitted to every bedroom window. The corner terrace downstairs looked out over the valley. There was always a breeze, so it stayed pleasant even when it was 35 degrees Celsius. The location is beautiful and the pool is lovely, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. It’s a good base for visiting Florence, Siena, and Lucca. I’d definitely recommend it.

There’s so much to take in here: the views, cherry and fig trees, olive trees, grapevines, wildlife, and untouched nature. It’s secluded and incredibly quiet, a great place to unwind, and it feels like a second home now. This is my sixth visit and I’ll definitely come back. The pool is great for swimming, and the mosquito nets are really important here. The apartments are always clean and have what you need, apart from egg cups in some of them. The owners are incredibly friendly and even brought us fresh figs. A couple of things could be better: the loungers, tables, and chairs at the apartment are plastic, and the poolside sunshades on the loungers won’t stay up. They keep flapping down onto your chest or face.
