Villa Popillo was a fabulous five-star stay in a beautiful part of Tuscany. It was comfortable and very clean, and the pool was superb, with a Jacuzzi at each end. We were lucky to have Michelle and Roxanne hosting us. They were exceptionally organised and kept everything running smoothly from arrival to departure. Roxanne and Alex, both talented pastry chefs, made homemade pastries and cakes for breakfast on three mornings. On three evenings Michelle arranged for local chiefs to prepare and serve typical Tuscan food. Everything was perfect. We had a fantastic time, from relaxing by the pool to going on wine tasting trips. It’s one of the best holidays we’ve had, and we’d highly recommend Villa Popillo for a luxurious, hassle-free getaway. Michelle and Roxanne’s customer service really made it special. Michele and Roxana looked after us every step of the way, and treated us like family. When we had a medical emergency, Michele even drove us to the emergency room and translated for us. Nicola was a wonderful chef and took all our dietary needs into account. We’re still dreaming about Roxanas pastries and can’t wait to return. No other vacation will compare. Thank you to the whole team, with lots of love from the US!

The house really does have charm, in the photos and in person, but living there showed us that the “luxury” label didn’t match the experience. For a place priced like a five-star hotel, the basics were missing. There was no Wi-Fi, no drinking water or even a complimentary bottle, so we had to make an emergency shopping trip. We couldn’t find cleaning supplies, not even a sponge or a little detergent, and there was no hand soap either. The grill was there but had no tools, so it wasn’t usable. It’s a shame, because the house has potential, but those things feel like basics for the price. The stay left a bitter aftertaste, and not because of the food. Mrs. Francesca, the on-site key contact, was kind and helpful. Ownership and management have changed since earlier reviews.

The estate was magnificent, surrounded by nature and well away from the city. We had an incredible stay there with 16 people. Michele was a fantastic host and took great care of us whenever we needed him. Just magnificent, and I highly recommend it. Thanks again!
