Corte Francigena - Apartments

Corte francigena isn’t a hotel and doesn’t have a restaurant, so bring supplies or pick them up at the shop in town. The staff were friendly and helpful when needed, and reception was open from early morning until evening. We stayed four nights on our week-long holiday in Italy, and after hectic Roma it felt like a breath of fresh air. We drove a rental car and found the place easy to reach, nestled on a hill near Montalcino in Tuscany. The small town has one shop and 3 restaurants, enough for our stay. Our spacious, elegant apartment was modern and had a kitchen, and the complex had a pool and magnificent views. You can rent all sorts of bicycles, though we didn’t have time. We went for walks, visited Montalcino, and spent our time eating, drinking wine, and relaxing. We had a great time. Some of the wooden sunbeds and outdoor furniture could use a makeover. We’ll be back.

Peace and quiet, with a spot by the olive trees if you want privacy. The pool area stretches all the way to the alleys. Everything was spotlessly clean, with a rustic yet modern design and a very good standard. The staff were outstanding, and everyone did their best to help with requests. If you want a special stay, this is a perfect place. Thanks, Corte, for a fantastic time.

We had a smooth stay in spring and a breathtaking view. The girls at reception were really kind. We definitely want to come back and enjoy the Tuscan summer!

It’s a nice place, but it feels like the owners’ profit comes before guests’ comfort. Things like pool towels and enough shampoo for more than one day all cost extra. Staff were rarely around, and when we did find them, they were unfriendly. It’s a pity because the place has potential, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
