The Villa Portuso has the kind of character that so many modern hotels seem to be missing. We came to Porto Ercole for a few quiet days beside the sea after a hectic time in Rome, and it was just what we needed. It was off-season and there weren't many guests, but the staff were warm, helpful, and did more than we expected. Such a lucky find. Highly recommended!

Feniglia Beach is only a short walk away, and the property looks out over the sea. Breakfast and the food were excellent, with organic products too.

There's a lovely place in here trying to get out, but at the moment the whole project seems stalled. With focused improvements and careful, serious work, it could become really beautiful. It's frustrating that the upgrades are being done by people called "artisans" who, in my humble opinion, don't deserve that name. A rough diamond still stuck in the 80s and 90s. Keep going, and have courage!

The pool is lovely, and there's plenty of greenery around this charming property set into the promontory. Breakfast was good too. It's close to the sea, with beach access through a partner establishment.
