We were there for a wedding, and the setting was gorgeous. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the breakfast and restaurant food were flawless. Getting in takes quite a climb, either by stairs or slope, but that puts the lake and waterfront within easy reach. Hope we can return!

Great for a couple wanting to walk around the canal. I made the return trip on my own because my girlfriend had missed her rendezvous. Otherwise, it was fine with the right person. Go local, skip the tourist traps, and enjoy the friendly neighborhood.

The castle setting gives the place a unique feel, with historic rooms and an amazing view. Try a weeknight if you want luxury at a great price.

This small island sits near the edge of the lake and has good short to medium walks along the shore or higher up the mountain. From the hotel’s terrace, the lake views are stunning. There’s an on-site restaurant, and several other recommended places to eat in the village down by the nearby harbor, all within walking distance. The hotel is a beautiful old estate. The rooms are spacious and clean, though dated. Common areas are wonderful, and there’s a small pool plus several dining spaces.

We ate here one evening during our holiday. The hilltop location overlooking the lake is stunning, and the food was outstanding, with meat, fish and vegetarian choices.
