We only went for the wine tasting and didn't stay at the hotel. It takes place on a terrace with an incredible view, and they explain a bit about the different wines, which are all organic. There was typical Tuscan food to go with them, and you can buy bottles if you like. It was a great experience. The wine is tasty, though not cheap. I'm no expert, I just enjoy drinking it and don't know much about it.

We went down into the cellars to see what happens behind the scenes, and learned about wine varieties as well as how the wines are made and stored. The tasting included delicious wine and a selection of cheeses. We liked it so much that we bought a couple of bottles. We visited two days ago and had a great time, so I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area! 😊

A pleasant spot to try the wines before buying. The range is excellent, with both reds and whites, and the merlot especially stood out.

Everything was impeccable, from the lovely tasting room to the excellent rooms. And the wine? My favorite I've ever had. Five stars.

Stella: The people at the farm and apartment were friendly, but the shower was old and dirty, and the apartment was so noisy we could hear the neighbors talking from bed. It's furnished very simply, with the basics. There's not much to do or see in the village, which you can drive through in two seconds. If you enjoy the countryside, we did see a wild boar, it can work as a base for Pisa, Florence, Volterra, and Cecina for the beach. Rome is 3.5 hours away by car. Tuscany is beautiful and worth another visit, but next time we'll choose a good hotel. Getting there was a real problem. TomTom didn't know where the place was, so don't miss the road toward Gello. Otherwise you can end up on a winding, unpaved forest track, just wide enough for one car despite two way traffic, for 30 minutes. It was terrifying in the dark. The village is practically empty, and places like the Praetorian Palace and copper mines were closed. Pieter: This place is in the middle of nowhere and impossible to find without navigation. You have to be comfortable driving through the mountains, and there are loads of insects. The standard mosquito screens are good, but they don't keep everything out. We booked what was advertised as a cheap one bedroom apartment with a sofa bed. I naively assumed it also had a regular bed, though I thought that part would be manageable. The sofa bed was old and worn, with iron bars you could feel. After one night I had terrible back pain. The owner understood, called it horrible, and moved us to a larger, more expensive apartment with a real bed. It wasn't great, but we slept much better. We had planned to stay a week with our car, but left early. The view was limited, there was no TV or sofa, the pool was freezing and not suitable for kids, and there was no microwave.
