La dolce Vita

The pool was much larger than it looked in the photos, and the rooms were spotless and spacious. Breakfast was a highlight, with a different spread most mornings: fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, omelettes with local vegetables, croissants, and freshly cut fruit. Everything tasted great, and the hosts served it warmly, often with a little joke. Many ingredients came from within a kilometer of B&B La dolce vita. Andrea and Bertilla were incredibly kind and helpful. Their restaurant and winery suggestions, along with their tips for outings, never let us down. This was the best B&B stay I’ve had, and we’ll definitely come back.

In the Veneto region, La Dolce Vita felt like a little haven. The rooms have tasteful decor, lovely art, and bookshelves, with a clean and thoughtful look. The staff paid close attention and were ready to help with whatever we needed. I can’t think of a better place to stay in the area.

The warm, personal service alone made this a five-star stay. Andrea and his wife were lovely, full of Italian charm and jokes, and Andrea was always available with help or tips on restaurants and wineries. He speaks Italian and French, but we could still communicate even though we didn’t know those languages. Checking in felt like visiting a friend, since you walk through their living room. The pool is enormous, very clean, and bigger than the Google photos suggest or you’d expect when first arriving. The garden is beautifully planted, and breakfast was really tasty. Our room was spacious and clean, though less modern and stylish than some places we stayed on the trip. I wasn’t keen on the short double bed made up of two mattresses. The air conditioning was extremely loud, sometimes like a plane taking off, and the room felt warm and humid even on a rainy, not especially hot day. A quieter unit and some updated furniture might help. Even with those drawbacks, I’d still give the place five out of five for its heartfelt service.

There’s a lovely garden and a swimming pool just outside the rear door, and you can stay in an apartment with a kitchen and all the comforts. We asked for an aperitivo and got a large wooden tray of sliced salami with one or more bottles of very good wine. Breakfast was a delightful surprise too. The place is wonderful and the hosts are fantastic, definitely worth stopping at if you’re nearby.
