Cilento is beautiful, but my experience with the owner left me feeling ripped off. I asked that morning how much two sun loungers and an umbrella would cost, and was told €20, which was fine. Later, I needed to use the bathroom and went to pay at the same time. There was no bathroom because it's a resort, so apparently you have to rent a bungalow if you need to pee. They took the €20 without giving me an invoice, saying you have to rent a bungalow to get one. The woman running the place could simply have said it wasn't a beach resort. Greed is awful!
The spacious, clean apartment looked out over the dreamy sea, and breakfast on the bar's sea-view terrace was a special experience every time. We spent a relaxing stay in this lovely village, enjoying the kind, helpful staff and feeling at home straight away. There are many places rich in history nearby to visit, making it a great fit for families and cycling enthusiasts alike.
It's a quiet spot in an excellent location, and we were very happy there. The bungalow for two is a little small, but you spend your time by the sea rather than in the room.
The week flew by, and I left wishing I could stay longer. The beachfront place is unique and enchanting, and everything was as described. The owners, bar staff, beach staff, and everyone else were kind and very helpful. I've promised myself I'll be back as soon as I can.
