The outdoor pool beneath the olive trees is a huge plus at this simple B&B. The bedrooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and everything is spotless, though the bathrooms could use a few small fixes. Breakfast is available for an extra charge, but there are no other meal options or cooking facilities on site. You’ll need a car here, and be prepared to speak Italian or use a translator app. It’s a little too far from the beach for a beach holiday, but works well as a base for driving to different towns and sights, like Pompei.

We stopped here on the way home from our Sicily vacation to break up the drive. The rooms were clean and practical, and the large pool is set among green olive groves. It’s a charming, relaxing place, and the owners are very willing to meet their guests’ needs. Dinner was homemade, tasty, and plentiful, and breakfast had lots of variety. I got the feeling that someone here does things with love, which is rare these days. Thanks to the cook and owner for the delicious figs and tomatoes, and to her assistant for being so kind. One tip if you’re arriving from the highway: don’t trust the GPS, stay on the main road until you see the sign "Il Rifugio."

The owner and staff pay close attention to what guests need, and the food is excellent. It’s a welcoming place and a delightful experience I’d repeat, whether with friends or for a memorable celebration. Highly recommended!

We had such a good time at Easter Monday lunch that we wanted to return on Saturday for pizza, but sadly it was closed. The service was quick, and everything on the menu was excellent. For €40, we got an appetizer, two first courses, grilled meat with a side, fruit, dessert, wine, and other drinks. We ate really well, and based on my experience, I highly recommend it.
