The feature that sets Palazzo Bucelli apart is its exterior plinth, which turns the façade into something like an open-air museum. It was commissioned by the owner's nephew, an antiques dealer and collector who lived in the 17th and 18th centuries. He decorated the base with tiles from cinerary urns and stone inscriptions dating to the Etruscan and Roman periods. Many are still visible today.

Walking past Palazzo Bucelli, I felt connected to the area's past. Its façade is decorated with Etruscan and Latin reliefs, and the palace reflects Montepulciano's rich history and the ancient civilizations that lived here. Many visitors value it for its distinctive character and historical importance.

It's a beautiful building, and its authenticity really comes through. A low fence runs around the front to protect it. Such a unique place.
