The staff at reception were welcoming and happy to let us sample their wines, though formal tastings need to be booked. Talosa – Cantina Storica has atmospheric old cellars that are easy to visit and well worth seeing. The Vino Nobile might not be the region’s very best, but it’s elegant, well made, and deserves attention. A memorable stop for wine lovers. 🍷

The tasting was good, though less structured than the other two I did nearby, and the guide answered all our questions after the tour. The visit itself felt rushed and basic compared with those other wineries. It was nice that my party was the only one there, so it felt private. We paid extra for the food pairing, but got the same meat and cheese board that came at no extra cost with the other two tastings.

The staff were really nice, and the wine was great, with a free tasting. We bought a bottle of the 2020 and found it very smooth. The winery is right in the center of Montepulciano, with a huge underground cellar that stays cool. Worth going down the stairs to see those big wine barrels.

We tried four wines and two aperitivos, and the wines were very good. The staff knew their stuff and were friendly. This winery makes its wine in an underground storage facility in the center of Montepulciano. We’ll be ordering soon!

The food was incredible and the wine exquisite. You go straight down into an ancient cellar built over a 6th-century Etruscan tomb. A once-in-a-lifetime experience, and a must if you visit Montepulciano. Wow!
