We celebrated our anniversary in Italy at Fattoria San Martino, and it was a magical part of the trip. Karin welcomed us so warmly that we felt at home straight away. The whole estate shows so much care and artistry. Our room, like the rest of the property, brought together rustic charm and elegance, with thoughtful textures and furnishings and a calm atmosphere. We chose to eat on site. Neither of us is vegetarian, but the fresh, colorful dishes were full of flavor and among the most memorable meals of our trip. The staff were all warm and sincere, and clearly wanted to make our stay special. We tried to add another night, but the rooms were already fully booked, which made sense after staying there. Fattoria San Martino is an experience that stays with you. We'll absolutely return and hope this lovely place thrives for many years.

We had a wonderful two-night stay. The grounds were lovely, and our room was spotless and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious and a perfect start to the day. We're glad we tried dinner at the on-site restaurant, where each course felt carefully put together and the ingredients tasted so fresh.

Fattoria San Martino was a real highlight of our Italian holiday. We stayed four nights and didn't want to leave. The views were stunning, and it felt like an oasis between visits to Florence and Rome. We chose half board, and every dinner was four courses of creative, delicious vegan food. The pasta class with Karin was so much fun, too. Karin and her team made us feel special throughout, and Cosetta the dog was adorable and happy to be patted by everyone. Without a car, the walk into town takes about 20 minutes uphill, so be ready for that. It's very doable, though, and a lovely way to explore Montepulciano town centre.

We stopped at Fattoria San Martino for lunch and came away feeling thoroughly nourished. The risotto with zucchini and olives, finished with pure olive oil and fresh lemon zest, was fantastic, especially on a hot summer day. The local ingredients came through in every bite. It's tucked into the peaceful Tuscan countryside, with a calm, welcoming atmosphere and kind people who made us feel at home. A place that feeds body and soul.
