Terra Antica Resort

Having just 10 units across the estate made for a peaceful, private stay, and the service was excellent throughout. We loved the pool view suite, with its generous space, two beautiful bathrooms and views we never tired of. The jacuzzi is conveniently set by the garden entrance to the pool. Breakfast was fresh, delicious and offered plenty of choice. One of the most beautiful, welcoming places I’ve stayed. It feels unlike a regular hotel stay, and I highly recommend it.

We stayed in the Queen Suite, which was huge, spotless and nicely decorated. The full kitchen had everything we needed. The buffet breakfast was amazing, with plenty of high-quality cooked-to-order options, and the staff in the lovely breakfast room were exceptionally friendly. There’s also a very well-equipped gym, one of the better ones we’ve seen at a resort this size. At check-in, the welcome was warm and the tour of the grounds was thorough. Terra Antica is a serene, gorgeous base for exploring Montepulciano and the Val d'Orcia. We did notice a slight sulfur smell from the sink and shower water, which is common in this part of Tuscany. It’s safe and didn’t affect our stay, though it’s useful to know about. The thoughtful details and kind staff made us feel special. We’d return in a heartbeat.

The staff were attentive and welcoming, and the rich, tasty breakfast was a lovely way to start each day. Our room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully designed. The views are breathtaking and give the place a relaxing, almost magical feel. It really does feel like paradise.

Giulio, our sommelier, made the tasting special by telling us about the vineyard and each wine we sampled. My boyfriend and I chose the basic tasting of three wines with a tagliere, and the Nobile di Montepulciano was our favorite. It was a 10/10 experience. We’d love to come back another time for lunch and a tasting.
